The Challenge

An industrial chemical manufacturing company faced a critical maintenance issue when one of its heavy equipment units began to exhibit recurring overheating and a decline in radiator performance. Inspection revealed significant scaling, corrosion, and residue buildup on hydraulic and radiator mounts—conditions that restricted coolant circulation and hindered heat dissipation. These technical failures not only jeopardized equipment integrity but also posed operational risks such as unexpected downtime and increased maintenance interventions.

The Solution

After evaluating several options, the technical team decided to use TERRAGARD RC 888, a ready-to-use coolant specifically designed for industrial engines and heavy-duty equipment. Before application, the cooling system was thoroughly cleaned to remove existing scale, residue, and corrosion.

TERRAGARD RC 888 was then introduced into the system at a 33.3% concentration, taking advantage of its formula featuring:

  • High glycol content (45–55%)

  • High boiling point (>129°C)

  • Low freezing point (-30°C)

  • A corrosion inhibitor package compatible with various metal types
