Implementation of TERRAGARD DEF/AdBlue in a National Mining Hauling Fleet
Industry
Mining
Challenge
The company required a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) solution that could ensure SCR system reliability, minimize risks of equipment downtime, and deliver consistent compliance with Euro IV-equivalent NOx emission standards in continuous, high-load mining operations. The solution also needed to maintain operational efficiency and protect critical engine components from corrosion and deposits, all while addressing the economic impact of potential regulatory penalties.
Results
TERRAGARD DEF demonstrated full ISO 22241 compliance, enabling the SCR systems to consistently reduce NOx emissions to regulatory levels without triggering system faults or crystallization. The trial confirmed stable DEF and diesel consumption rates, no operational downtime related to the emission control system, and no signs of corrosion or equipment degradation. TERRAGARD DEF proved to be a safe, non-corrosive, and cost-effective DEF option, providing significant operational and environmental benefits for the mining fleet.
Key Product
TERRAGARD DEF
As a mining company operating intensive, high-load hauling equipment, we needed a DEF solution we could truly rely on—not only to meet emission standards, but to maintain SCR system stability and prevent costly downtime. After completing the trial, TERRAGARD DEF/AdBlue proved its quality. We experienced zero fault codes, no crystallization, and consistently stable SCR performance throughout the evaluation. Our DEF and diesel consumption remained consistent, there were no signs of corrosion on system components, and most importantly, there was absolutely no operational disruption. This product delivers real value to our operations, both in terms of efficiency and regulatory compliance. We are satisfied with the results and consider TERRAGARD DEF a safe, effective, and long-term solution

About your Customer
A leading national mining company operating a large fleet of heavy-duty hauling equipment, committed to sustainability and regulatory compliance in its mining operations. The Challenge
Operating a fleet of heavy-duty hauling equipment under continuous load, the mining company faced increasing pressure to meet stringent Euro IV-equivalent NOx emission standards while maintaining equipment uptime and operational efficiency. Existing DEF solutions posed risks of SCR faults, crystallization, or system corrosion, all of which could lead to costly downtime and potential compliance penalties. The company required a technically robust, reliable DEF product to ensure emission targets were met and avoid operational disruptions.
The Solution
After evaluating multiple DEF suppliers, the company selected TERRAGARD DEF/AdBlue from PT Beta Pramesti Asia, drawn by its ISO 22241 certification, proven urea content (32.5%), and ultrapure formulation. A controlled trial was conducted on several hauling units, with comprehensive monitoring of DEF and diesel consumption, SCR system status, dosing pump performance, injector integrity, and visual inspections for crystallization or corrosion. "TERRAGARD DEF/AdBlue proved to be a reliable solution, supporting our emission reduction targets without causing any operational disruption during the trial.," stated. The product's technical documentation and safety profile further supported its selection.
The Results
The trial validated TERRAGARD DEF's effectiveness in maintaining SCR system stability and achieving compliant NOx emission reduction. Key performance metrics included a DEF usage rate of 3–5% (OEM range), urea content at 32.5%, and NOx emissions consistently within Euro IV regulatory limits. No fault codes, nozzle crystallization, or corrosion were observed, and the DEF's LC50 fish toxicity measured at 22,279 ppm demonstrated its safety profile. Fleet operations remained uninterrupted, with stable diesel consumption and no SCR-related downtime, confirming the product's operational and economic value.
