BETAGARD 6510
Low pH Membrane Cleaner
Membrane surface is a major cause of Reverse Osmosis system failure. Membrane fouling is a common phenomenon that involves the deposition of different but related types of foulants on the membrane surface. Betagard 6510 is a low pH membrane cleaner specifically designed for cleaning Reverse Osmosis systems. It effectively cleans inorganic salts such as CaCO3, CaSO4, BaSO4, and metal oxides. Betagard 6510 removes calcium carbonate scale and colloidal metal hydroxides without damaging sensitive polyamide composite membrane elements. Betagard 6510 will restore the cleanliness of the membrane surface and therefore extend the service life of the membrane.

Clear liquid with slight odor. | 1.06 - 1.16 | <3 | Betagard 6510 is a fuming liquid and special care should be taken in handling the concentrated form, please handle with care. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. In case of accidental splashing - flush with plenty of water. In case of contact with eyes, seek medical attention as a safety measure. | Available in plastic container size with a net weight of 30 Kg. |
Dosage & Usage Instructions:
To remove iron and metal hydroxide fouling and calcium carbonate scale. Betagard 6510 should be mixed in a cleaning tank equipped with a mechanical mixer, low pressure recirculation pump, and cartridge or bag filter. This sanitizer works best when applied at temperatures of 40oC- 45oC, pH 2.5 to 3.5, and at flow rates of 8 - 10 gpm per 4" pressurized tube or 30 - 40 gpm per 8" pressurized tube at pressures between 20 - 50 psi. Dilute 1 to 10 with RO permeate water or DI water. Check and adjust pH if necessary. Add Ammonium Hydroxide to increase pH and add more Betagard 6510 to decrease pH. Recirculate solution for 1 hour, checking pH regularly. Turn off the pump and soak for 1 hour. After soaking, recirculate for 20 minutes and then rinse.
BETAGARD 6520
High pH Membrane Cleaner
Foulant accumulation on the membrane surface is a major cause of Reverse Osmosis system failure. Membrane fouling is a common phenomenon that involves the deposition of many different but related types of foulants on the membrane surface. Betagard 6520 is an alkaline cleaner specifically designed for cleaning Reverse Osmosis systems. It effectively cleans colloidal particles, bio-film and organic foulants. Betagard 6520 is typically used in conjunction with Betagard 6510, which is an acidic cleaner, to provide a thorough cleaning process in Reverse Osmosis systems. Both Betagard 6520 and Betagard 6510 will restore the cleanliness of the membrane surface and therefore extend the life of the membrane. Betagard 6520 should be the first step in any cleaning regime. Features:
- Alkaline liquid to remove biological, organic and colloidal fouling without damaging sensitive polyamide composite membrane elements.
- Effective for removing emulsified oils and silica. It should be used after the system shows signs or performance degradation or as a preventative cleaning.

In case of contact with eyes, seek medical attention as a safety measure. | Available in plastic container size with a net weight of 30 Kg. |
Dosage & Usage Instructions:
Betagard 6520 should be mixed in a cleaning tank equipped with a mechanical mixer, low pressure recirculation pump, and cartridge or bag filter. This cleaner works best when used at 40oC- 45oC, pH 11.5, and at flow rates of 8 - 10 gpm per 4" pressure tube or 30 - 40 gpm per 8" pressure tube at pressures between 20 - 50 psi. For Silica fouling, use at pH 12. Be careful as pH above 12 can damage membrane elements. Consult your membrane manufacturer for an acceptable cleaning pH range. Dilute 1 part Betagard 6520 into 10 parts RO permeate water or DI water. Check and adjust pH if necessary. Add Sulfuric Acid or Hydrochloric Acid to lower the pH and add more Betagard 6520 to increase the pH. Recirculate the solution for 1 hour, checking the pH regularly. Turn off the pump and soak for 1 hour. After soaking, recirculate for 20 minutes and then rinse.
