Condensate Polishing at a Glance

The Steam Power Plant (PLTU) uses water vapor (steam) to drive turbines and generate electricity. Water vapor is obtained by heating the feed water in the boiler with coal fuel. The water vapor from the boiler is used in the turbine and then enters the condenser to cool the temperature and is referred to as condensate.

Condensate is used to clean the boiler feed water.

How to clean this condensate? That is with a condensate polishing system. Condensate Polisher generally consists of a heat exchanger to reduce the condensate temperature to a temperature that can still be held by activated carbon and ion exchange resin, activated carbon to remove hydrocarbons and ion exchange mixed bed polisher to reduce the conductivity and silica content to a level that is in accordance with the boiler feed water requirements.
